Founder
Peggy is the founder of Ullmann & Company, which she operated with passion for many years. She continues to keep her hand in the profession, enjoying her national volunteer activities which currently include working as a hearing officer of the AICPA Joint Trial Board and as a member of the Professional Ethics Executive Committee of the AICPA. She also continues to be available to the firm as counsel, as needed.
Over the years, she has been exceedingly active in the direction of the profession as well as national and local tax and accounting policy and legislation. She served as Director on the Board of the American Institute of CPAs and as the AICPA Federal Key Person Delegate for federal tax and accounting legislation. She is Past President of the Arizona Society of CPAs and has represented Arizona CPAs before certain legislative committees presenting information and response on a variety of accounting and tax matters. She also served on the AICPA Council and strategic AICPA committees, including the Management of Accounting Practice and Private Company Practice Section planning bodies. She was a member of the AICPA “Group of 100”, a national strategic planning body for the CPA profession, charged with predicting and providing guidance for changes affecting the future of the accounting profession. She served as Chairman of the Board of the Arizona Federal Tax Institute and has served on the faculty of the American Institute of CPA’s National Tax Education Program held at the University of Illinois. She is the former President of the Arizona CPA Foundation for Education and Innovation. This foundation supports the CPA profession by encouraging the best students through scholarships and awards to university educators.
During her illustrious career, Peggy has provided business consulting and strategy for closely-held operations, financial reporting, budgeting and planning, tax planning, transaction structuring and analysis, and capital acquisition support, IRS federal income and excise tax audit representation, and financial reporting. She has provided tax and accounting services to closely held business clients and their owners, including international business operations in several European countries, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, India and Mexico; manufacturing enterprises; retail; restaurant; privately owned regulated water companies and other utilities; service industries, including the practice of law, political lobbying, technology, electronic components, software, medical and dental, public relations, public speaking and marketing, real estate brokerage, real estate appraisal and consulting, hair and beauty, travel services, and veterinary medicine; heavy equipment dealer and service provider; agricultural products, furniture and bedding products; real estate construction including general and subcontracting; real estate investment development and construction; printing and publishing.
She earned a Masters in Accountancy/Taxation and Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University where she graduated magna cum laude.
